Does anyone know where I can get standard air filters for a V1000?

I've seen this data in quite a few spares lists Robert, but I really don't think it's correct...  The HA Viva had a round 'pancake' style filter and, obviously, that won't fit the Hesketh.  There are a zillion photo of the early Viva here and every one that shows the filter assy, shows it to be round...

The Chevette filter is a rectangular panel, but it's about 30% too long for the V1000 filter boxes...

Chevette Panel Filter Dimensions:

Height                    0.938 in (24 mm)
Outside Length   11.844 in (301 mm)
Outside Width           3.50 in (89 mm)

V1000 Panel Filter Dimensions:

Height                   1.00 in (25.4 mm)
Outside Length   9.00 in (228 mm)
Outside Width           3.50 in (89 mm)

A K&N re-usable filter for the Chevette is still available (Pt. No. 33-2502) But it would need to be 'cut and shut' to fit and I doubt that would do much for the 're-usability' of the product...

I'm planning to fabricate a couple of alloy/mesh 'frames' to sit in the OE air filter boxes and then fit 'Ramair' re-usable filter media into those frames...  It'll be a sort of 'bespoke K&N' that will allow me to keep the OE filter boxes...

Hope that helps

Thank you both. I'll explore those options. Whatever success I have, I'll post.

Hello Jeff,

You are right! I have no idea where they came from then but I have some spares if needed.

Cheers,

Re: Air filters
I have spoken to the Grand Guru himself (Mick Broom), the air filters were made by Hesketh themselves and are therefore made from pure Unobtanium.
Rob B, If you still have some, I need two (early twin airbox model) 9" x 3" x 1"
I was going to make my own, - but buying ones that fit seems a lot, lot easier.

Hi Robin,

I'm down to my last three filters unfortunately but will be collecting another box of HESKETH spares next week and will let you know if I have any more then.
