Hi everyone,

I have the opportunity for a company to make new tooling to manufacture new HESKETH seat covers with correct same pattern, shape and material as original. Minimum quantity is 25 and price about £40 each. Is there enough interest for these, either individually or as the club??

I want two for my bikes, so that leaves 23 to sell, or more if we increase the batch.

Thanks.

Will do Chris,

That's 4 then, so just another 21 to sell... Reminds me of the exhaust systems I did :-) ;D :)

You don't have a spare seat in your bits and pieces do you..?  If yes, I might even have two covers... ;)

Hello Jeff,

I don't have a spare seat, sorry. That's five or six covers then. When I get to ten I will place the order.

I am looking for a set of ASTRALITES if anybody has them? I sold all my wheels years ago in disgust after the front one failed on the Vampire. I'm ow building another bike to original spec, visually, apart from EN10 and my reworked cylinder heads with the KENT cams etc...

Hi Rob I'll have a seat cover if you continue on your quest.

Hi Rob,

Long term club member Kevin B would also like a seat cover. I have all his contact details when you need them.

He can't access the forum at the moment having forgotten his password and changed his email address, but hopefully Jeff will sort that out.

Best regards

Hi Rob and Dave; Kevin B's access should be sorted (doesn't go well to forget your password after changing your email address, eh Kevin..?)

I've also had a message from Wout Hammer who would like to be put down for two seat covers please...

Dear All,

I have now ordered the seat covers and I'm sending a spare seat to Les as the tooling pattern. I know it takes him a few weeks to get the tooling made so I can't guarantee you will have these in time for Christmas!

How are we doing for exhaust systems now? MOTAD gone but this might be time to put a little development work into new systems instead of simply copying the originals, although they do still need to look the same I think. Is anything else needed that can be done as a small batch? Sprockets?

My next outlay is on new gear clusters by Quiafe and I'm with them next week with the original HML ridiculously heavy gearbox jig shimmed up with a new original gearbox in it, just to add to the weight! These gear sets are going to be EXPENSIVE but will use the original shafts, bearings and selectors etc. I dislike the idea of simply shaving off the first dog steps so we will be making all new and lighter gears with conventional dogs. Maybe something for me to cover in the SOCK once production is underway with some photos and drawings. It is a batch of ten which is far smaller than their usual quantities for the Norton 5-speed, T150, Velocette, etc.

Good News Everybody. At last!

The weld tool for the new batch of HESKETH seat covers has been finished so they are now going into production. The mould tool for the new HESKETH seat foam will be finished next week. I have posted a photo on the HESKETH FB Group.

Les at SaddleCraft has finished the new batch of HESKETH seat covers. Ready for delivery but can also be collected at Stafford if I know how many are wanted. To remind everyone, price is £40 per cover plus postage. Les hopes to have the new seat foams ready in time for Stafford too.

Photo of the seat cover mould tool is on the FB HESKETH Group page as I still have no clue how to add a photo to this forum, without getting locked into some dodgy photo hosting site that then bombards me emails and offers.

Please confirm if you want them posted or will collect at Stafford. Thanks very much.

Correction to the above,

Les won't be at Stafford this year but I almost certainly will be; along with a couple of bikes for the HOC stand if wanted??? All the seat covers are being sent to me today so I shall bring some to the show if needed, plus a recovered seat to show how they look when fitted by someone who knows how to fit them!
