Hi Will;

Have you seen the price they fetch..?  Over £200..!! :o

I had a bid on a couple on Ebay, but they both went for WELL over what I was prepared to pay... I ended up collecting my own tools together and buying a neat toolroll to kep them in... Nice chrome vandium combo spanners, top notch allen keys, a lovely ratcheting screwdriver with a neat hidden compartment for the bits, etc, etc... I'm actually quite pleased that I didn't cough up and spend big on the original one... Reckon I'd have been too scared of scratching the tolls to have used it...  ;D

That said, it's a common problem that a 2nd hand bike doesn't come with it's OEM toolkit, classic or oher wise... There's a guy detailed his own experience in putting his own toolkit together here: (http://www.aumih.info/Tips/toolkit.html) And the kit he ended up with looks like this:

Doubt that'd fit into the Hesketh Side panel though... :-\

Thanx for that,I do want an original toolkit but wouldn't pay silly money for one,I bought my bike to ride and the oem toolkit has a few useful bits for routine maintainence,so hopefully someone will have a spare,I am a bit surprised that nobody seems to want to sell any bits? As there are no ads on the forum, and I thought the club members had shed loads due to the early demise of the company,I keep seeing clocks on e bay for 3/500£ ,with 500being delivered to the factory and less than 200bikes produced there must be plenty of clocks out there so the £3 to500 price seems bloody daft,I assume the sellers are not hoc members?

Hi Will,
There are quite a lot of Hesketh parts around, but not much advertised as there's not a particularly large market to satisfy and of course Hesketh Motorcycles do a very good supply job, including up to date items like those gorgeous new pistons.
Reference the clocks on ebay, I hope they're not HOC members as they're seriously overpriced. Plenty made and being ND they don't go wrong. Realistic price is £50 max. I bought a spare set on ebay years ago for less than that and then got another set in a dealers spares kit I bought. Both are unused, zero miles, so if you want one for £50? But they're not rare, most members have a spare set.
Our spares and technical man, Colin Evans is a HOC founder member and bought lots of bits at the auction and still has some of it left, so if you need anything give him a ring.
Various other members also have different stock, so when one of our members had the misfortune to have a cracked frame he had quite a few to choose from.
Then, of course, there's the alternative spares list. So if your Sparkrite voltage regulator gives up, as they are prone to getting water in them, you're much better off fitting a modern Boyer Bransden fully encapsulated unit, which converts more of your AC to DC, so you can happily run with lights on, heated grips, sat nav etc without killing your battery.
The tool kit is a rare item so do go for a lot of money.
As you get to know the club and club members, you'll learn who has the parts.

Will
I can back up what DH says. I think I bought the last toolkit to come up on ebay, I paid in excess of £250.00 pounds for it.
If you look at the members part of the forum you will find that there is only a few of them that have  used the forum.

Depends what you mean by "Used"... Invitations were sent to almost 80 members (and significant others such as Hesketh M/C).  39 folk have activated their accounts (over half) and there are a lot more folk reading these posts than are posting them...

Early days though... I'm actually quite pleased with the Forum's progress... ;D

The forum is great for me as it my best chance for contact with the HOC due to work and travelling. Love it!

The last toolkit I bought was 220 quid but is brand new, still in the Hesketh box and will stay that way. The toolkits with my bikes are original and complete but very used looking, as are the bikes!

Cheers,

Robert
