Hi, are any ignition systems available for the V1000 1982
Thanks Regards chris
Hi Chris;
I have a complete original ignition system for a V1000 that is spare, but it would take a little work to retrofit to a bike with the Gill system fitted and would negate fitting that system completely. If you contact me through the details given in the Sock, we can chat about it. (Webmaster / Sock Editor).
The original system is a Lucas/Rita ignitor box, 6V Lucas coils and an inductive pickup that fits in a housing having the LHS bearing for the rear exhaust cam too. I have the housing and the coils/Rita mounting plate too.

Hi Jeff thanks for the offer, I'm still battling with GILL and Triumph, both being very less than helpful.
GILL now admit they made some igniters for Hesketh after telling me they didn't, but that they are the same as the GP4 igniter they make for Triumph, but they won't sell me one because they are under obligation to only supply them to Triumph.
Triumph have told me that they use the GP4 igniter on some of their carburetted Bonneville range but won't tell me which ones, only that I can buy a new igniter from one of their stockists.
It's great to know that these companies can be so helpful
Hi Chris, it's the Boneville and Thruxton carb models that used this Gille setup. Spares available online from British Legends in France.
