Thanks Dave and fully agreed. I'm also really sorry you couldn't join us for the trip and fully appreciate there are those that simply can't for various reasons. There are however a lot of fully functioning bikes and riders who missed a great opportunity. It certainly reawakened my respect and appreciation for the HESKETH V1000.  "mile muncher"  :)

I do understand that ordinary members generally can't have their contact details revealed but as you have done in the past, please don't hesitate to put me in touch with anyone requiring HESKETH help or advice or just general HESKETH chat. There is always the caveat that I am certainly not an experienced time-served Hesketh Motorcycles Ltd. engineer or mechanic but as with all of us, we have learnt a lot about these beasts over the last 40 years of ownership, and we continue to do so, but only by talking and maintaining contact in whichever way possible with all the other HESKETH riders.

Going to be hot tomorrow. 36C at Silverstone!  8)

Next Project! If the jpg file attachment option works which it never has for me on this forum... Engine seems OK but the rest of it is going to put up a bit of a fight I expect...

Hi Rob,
You raise an interesting point. The club has a small membership, because so few Heskeths were built, hence support for the Forum, FB, shows, events etc is always limited. But despite our size we do make a good impact wherever we go!

FB page for HOC was set up by Jeff and discussed at the AGM as he needed admin/moderator support, which he now has from club member Matthew. I've recently joined FB so I can access the club page and I like it very much. Your posts on the recent overseas trip were spot on and much appreciated. I couldn't take part in the trip due to problems with my joints, but having been on the 3 previous overseas club trips, it was so nice to see how well our overseas members again responded and supported the trip. Seeing Merv on a Munch Mammoth was priceless. Of course FB is very much current information, so older stuff gets buried. For example Mick's info on main bearings in response to your request was very interesting, but finding it again? In theory Forum's should be better as they have a search facility, but are they as user friendly? I know our FB is private, which is a shame as it would be good publicity for the club if open to the public, but I do appreciate that would open up the potential for unpleasant posts and need even more moderation.

As a small club, I suspect most members who want info, contact another member. I know I've had calls from long term owners for technical info that's in the manuals on the club website.

So an on going topic. Always open to suggestions.

See you at Silverstone.

Dave

I didn't attend this years AGM but I believe the non-official Facebook site wasn't much liked by the majority of the committee. Maybe I'm mistaken but given that this HOC Forum is not nearly as user-friendly, and hence seems to be dead or dormant now, are there any other alternatives under consideration by the club?

Hesketh Bits and Pieces Wanted / Good condition LH silencer or ...
Last post by Rob B - June 01, 2022, 09:19:19 PM
The original LH silencer on my non-EN10 bike is very heavily dented where the bike has fallen over with the previous owner, more than once it would appear. This probably also explains the damaged crankcases, more of that on the FB Forum. If anyone has a good condition original replacement they are willing to sell then please let me know. A pair would be even better but it is the LH one that really lets the bike down.

The end cap spinnings on the later batches of silencers that I had made, and the club also, are a different shape to the original ones.

Many thanks,

Robert

We could only fit four bikes last year. Will we get a better (bigger) stand for Oct22, or preferably the old place back on the Balcony for the 40th?

Thanks,

Robert

Can I ask if the Italy trip is going ahead please as scheduled?

If so, then how many will be riding from the UK and a rough idea of the itinerary or route please?

Martin Tobian would like to know which day we intend visiting him in Freiburg and what arrangements he can make, if any?

Many thanks,

Robert
