Ahead of receiving my new KW Hesketh (while Paul S sorts out the fuel injection system on it!) I'd like to  get some info/advice on sourcing hard panniers, particularly the mounting frame.  Can anyone help me with getting hold of a mounting frame for the bike to which the base plate of either a Krauser or Givi set of panniers can be attached? Alternatively, if anyone knows of someone who may be willing to fabricate such a frame (at my cost), I'd be interested to hear from them.

Hi Cal;  Welcome to the HOC Forum  ;D

There are luggage frames for the V1000 "kicking around" to suit Sigma or Krauser panniers... The Sigma kits are few and far between, as are the boxes that fit them, but the Krauser kits accept the K2 type panniers and are more commonplace...

Hopefully, someone with a kit/set to sell will see your post...  I've been "messing about" with a wide collection of parts in an attempt to get some Givi panniers fitted to my own V1000... I already have 2 sets of Givi panniers and my other bikes have rails to suit, so Givi are my preferred solution...

At last year's Lanark Bike Show there was a chap who makes stainless steel luggage systems to order... I have his card somewhere and will dig it out asap...

Regards

Jeff

Thanks, Jeff.

If you can share the contact details of the chap you mentioned from the Lanark show, I'd appreciate it. You may still have my contact email from our introductory phone call a couple of weeks back.

I'd still be interested to buy a set/frame kit if any member wishes to sell or follow up alternative fabrication solutions.

Cheers!

Hi Cal, I may be able to help with the mountings, frames and panniers.
If you'd like to call me one evening I'll discuss with you. 01271 328702

Hi Cal

(Calum ?)

I had a Givi Wing rack on my old green bike, these were sold to KC and now I believe are with Matthew but they fit nicely with only a few mods and are hardly noticable on the bike as they sit up so high.

I will have some pics should you want to have a look.

I have also just purchased two original sigma cases and frames (as I am intendting to build a Vampire, but if I dont go down that route I may sell them in due course).
