I've heard, on the HOC grapevine, that replacement fuel taps for the V1000 and Vampire are difficult to source.  I understand that neither Hesketh Motorcycles, or HOC has stock of these.

After doing some research, I've discovered that suitable, 3-position LHS/RHS taps are manufactured by BAP:

They can be sourced from "Motociclo" at AU$26.50 each, but shipping and VAT/Import taxes will probably be more than that...

These "Euro" taps appear to have been fitted to some Moto-Guzzi models (V35/V50/V65) and I've found them on UK Ebay here:

LHS Fuel Tap - Ebay

RHS Fuel Tap - Ebay

I also found the same taps on this Gutibits page...

I hope that helps...

BTW:  If anyone uses any of these taps and finds that they're OK/great/crap... PLEASE post up and let us know where you got them and how you rate them...

Thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I've used Gutsibits on a number of occasions for all my V1000 brake seal kits and carb rebuild kits and I've always found them to be very helpful and efficient in terms of stock levels and fast despatch/delivery.
I'm pretty sure the items they sell will be good!

Cheers

The ones from niks-euro-bits ebay store at ten pounds each are great. Probably made in China or India but better quality than the original Italian ones that they are copied from! I bought a couple more from his stall at Stafford the other weeks. He also does a great line in Brembo P8 and P9 spares.

Hi Rob;

The taps you've bought are the ones shown in the first post of this thread. "nik-w" is  the guy that owns/runs niks-euro-bits...  Good to here that the quality is up to spec though...

His ebay shop is packed with stuff suitable for the V1000...  Click the picture link to see his ebay shop:
