Good stuff indeed! Hope she continues running in the same vein.

Fingers crossed for you. If you are getting down to the Bentley event, I hope you have fun.....I'm painting a floor.....:(

230 miles covered today...

Bike fired up 'on the button'.  No misfiring or 'dropping out' at all...

My route covered 'A' Roads, 'B' Roads urban, rural and motorway routes...  I stopped four times and the bike started up again without a single hint of misfire or 'spitting back'.  Over the route travelled I noted a 10% improvement in mpg too.

I've read other folks' discussions on 'double-resistor' systems.  None seem to think it's a good idea...  It's commonplace these days for resistor plugs to be used, but modern ignition systems produce very high outputs compared to the Hesketh's ancient system...  I'm thinking that 'double resistor' just doesn't suit my bike and the Accuspark leads plus 'R' type plugs have been causing the problems...

But...  The proof of the pudding will be in seeing if the bike starts as sweetly after being left for a week (or longer) because that's when the problem presents more than any other time...

More, as it develops...

Thanks Jeff.....sterling stuff...

I have just taken mine for 20-mile blast.  She is running the best I've managed so far, but think I will get another set of plugs to put in reserve.  I have yet to trust her over any distance at all.....thus limiting my involvement in the Club; I hate having to be rescued!

Standing by for the next update!

So, my bike has been left for a week and today I wanted to give the carbs a 'tweak' prior to my upcoming trip to Europe...

She started up 'instantly'.  Hardly a whiff of smoke from either cylinder...  I warmed her up and she was idling very sweetly after a matter of minutes...

During my tune up, she was started, adjusted and stopped, three or four times.  No issues at all...

I'll be sticking with the non-resistor plugs from now on...

Awesome stuff!

Yet again, I'll follow your lead......and will report back; no guarantees that mine will respond in the same manner though - these bikes are fickle...

Hi guys,

I think i started this spark plug issue and I think I have the solution: DENSO X24ESR-U 4101 IT WORKS (AT LEAST FOR THE TIME) !!!!

Happy riding!!!

Miti

Good Luck with those Vas...

Those Denso plugs are 'resistor' type.  There is a list of comparible alternatives here:  If you use those and keep the NGK plug caps, you'll have a 'double-resistor' system...

I've started using copper-cored, non-resistor plugs to avoid 'double resistors' in the HT side...

I found that new plugs worked OK for a few starts, then began to foul the rear cyl again...  I'll try the non-resistor type for the reat of this year and see how they fare...
