Yippee my bike is running...

Paul has just sent me a video of "185" up and running and sounding fabulous with the shorter pipes... just need to get the carbs set up correctly and I will be back on the road.

I will be away for a week from this weekend (sorry cant make the Christmas Do) so hopefully will have her back by the end of the month.... its looking pretty cool so far though (in my biased opinion)...

Hi Tig,
What's been happening with your bike? Problems? Or have you just had it pulled down for the winter?

Pete.

Hi Guys

Jeff I have sent some pics and a video to your email (you know I am a dullard and cant attach it myself... well not from workk anyway)

In Essence, the bike used to smoke on the rear, so new 98mm Omega Pistons, with reduced deck height, so everything has had to be dropped by 7mm I think. Also much bigger Cosworth inlet and exhaust valves and the bigger finned head that Mick had made.

Oh and short pipes and doing away with the airbox and oil cooler cover (replaced with the mesh like on Geoff WOODHAMS new bike but using the carbon fibre side covers from the V1200.... does anyone remember that ?

So it will have the computerised ignition and gearbox mods... all in all it shoudl at last be a brilliant bike.... roll on the spring.

Regards

Happy, happy happy happy......

Geoff W and I went for a little ride in the SUN (remember that!!!) yesterday.

PIC:  185 - RHS View parked up in the sunshine

PIC: 185 and Geoff W's Kingswood V1000 (V1100..??)

PIC: Geoff W's Kingswood V1000

All was not well and I was rather depressed, until I stopped to see what was going on and realised it was only running on the rear cylinder..... swapped the plugs around and yep, she was now only running on the front.

Poodled back home and borrowed an old spark plug from the standard size heads.... that's better.

I have to say, I had one of the nicest rides EVER on ANY bike, just wafting along the back lanes, enjoying the sun. Everything working perfectly.

Thanks you Mick (gear box and ignition mods a few years back) and Paul and Iain for the latest work on pistons and heads.

It been well worth the wait.
