I'll re-do my chart tonight, I don't have access to it at work...

I'll also post up a link so folk can download the chart and enter their own data...

Later Edit:

Here's another take on the ignition curve.  This uses Mick's three datum points, extrapolated to match the 250 rpm steps on the chart.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IMAGE IS AN EXAMPLE ONLY. IT IS NOT A REFERENCE TABLE!!

The chart is created using Microsoft Word 2007.  This has a built in "chart" function which creates the graphic from data entered into an Excel spreadsheet.

You can download the chart from here and the spreadsheet from here.

(Click your right mouse button over the link and use the "save target as" function to save the files to your desktop, etc).

So, now I need to get the empirical data from my own bike and also the ideal data from the Gill system from Paul or Andy...  Then I can create "real" ignition curves... ;D

I resurrected this topic today as I finally got around to making the perspex generator cover...

I used a piece of 6mm perspex, but should have gone with 8mm as the recess required in the rear to clear the crank end is almost 5mm deep...

Now I'll be able to set/reset the timing without having to buy shares in Shell...   :)
