Folks,

Gaining visibility for the Hesketh motorcyle and our club is important. However, we cannot keep regurgitating the same old stuff in the media; we all know how bad things were in the beginning and everything that followed but we need new material and one of the best ways is by doing things.

Our social programme has some media interest especially when, for example, it's the 30th anniversary of the bike and the club.

In the past we undertook a challenge for the charity Riders for Health and raised £700 for them. It also helped raise our profile. You can see some pictures of what we got up to on our website under 'Alphabet Challenge'.

I've taken the liberty of adding the required link to that very page David:

Is it time to undertake another challenge both to help others and stir up some media attention?

Let me throw out a challenge to you - let's have some fresh ideas for a charity challenge.

An interesting point, but somewhat moot... :-X

If you mean by "they" the Hesketh Owners Club Members, then surely they're already responsible for the HOC Committee as per the votes cast at the last AGM...

If by "singing from the same hymn sheet" you mean all of the same opinion, with the same ideals and aims for HOC; that's not as straightforward...  All committees work on democratic principles and use a majority voting system to ensure that most members (not all - rarely all, in fact) agree with the proposal being voted on...

In the case of David's challenge, any member's suggestion would be subject to committee consideration and vote, prior to implementation.  As such, HOC would be ensuring that most of the Committee were in agreement.  Is that good enough, or did you have something more specific in mind?

It's good to get fresh ideas.

This one needs a little explaining, though.

What is the 'Shirt of Hurt.' And, would you explain how we might adopt the idea to become a challenge for the Hesketh Owners Club.

Shirt of Hurt

Danny Baker's initiative to raise money for Sport Relief 2012 by having folk raise sponsorship money if they wear the shirt of their most hated team...

Dunno how it would work for HOC... Do we have an "Auld Enemy..?"

Perhaps if we all raised sponsorship to wear Vespa shirts at the Stafford Show..?

Or maybe ANY football shirt ( I HATE football... Bloody gang o' nancies... mutter. mumble...)
